Department of material science the name of Ю.Н. Taran-Zhovnir was created in 1931, with 1998 is producing a 0901 "Engineering physical metallurgy to direction". This direction includes preparation of students on specialities of MTZ "Physical metallurgy"; (8.090104) and MZV "Applied material science" (8.090101). The last speciality has specialization "Management and marketing of modern materials and technologies". Now on specialities "Physical metallurgy" and "Applied materialovedenie" pass the proper preparation of 383 students. In composition the pedagogical collective of department there are five full professors, ten associate professors, five assistants. Scientific potential of department of physical metallurgy is presented five doctors of engineerings sciences and 19 candidates of engineerings sciences. An educational process is fully provided on the educational-laboratory areas of apartments academies which are plugged in the curriculum of employments on speciality.
